Sonny Narang and his family – lovely wife, Julie and three-year-old twins, Zander & Seraphina – are residents of West Columbia, South Carolina. After graduating from Brookland-Cayce High School, Sonny’s quest for knowledge led him to pursue higher education in a variety of academic areas, including business, welding and nuclear engineering technology. He attended the University of South Carolina, Clemson University and Midlands Technical College. After receiving his business degree, Sonny gained invaluable corporate experience as part of the management team at a big box retailer, but his entrepreneurial spirit could not be contained for long and he ultimately set out to build his own ladder, rather than climbing someone else’s.
For more than twenty years Sonny has put his business degree to use as a thriving entrepreneur, owning & operating several businesses in the West Columbia area. Sonny is a long-time member of the Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau. His professional experience and interests don’t stop at business. Sonny is also a member of the South Carolina Association of Legal Investigators (SCALI), a professional association which promotes ethics, professionalism, mutual assistance and continuing education among members of South Carolina’s private investigation industry. Sonny is also active in his local community, previously volunteering his time to Little League Baseball and the Cayce-West Columbia Jaycees. These days, he is an active member of the South Carolina State Guard – an all-volunteer corps that plays a supporting role to the National Guard and state & local municipalities during times of emergency. Sonny currently holds the rank of Second Lieutenant in the SCSG.
Sonny considers himself a fair constitutionalist and takes great pride in his commitment to being open-minded and willing to compromise. He, like so many others, has grown frustrated by the prevalence of career politicians, general lack of common sense, failure to seek common ground and partisan nonsense that has all but paralyzed our federal government. Rather than sit on the sidelines and wag his finger at the problem, Sonny has chosen to do something about it. His desire to affect real change and participate in the governance of the nation he loves is what inspired Sonny to run for Congress in South Carolina’s Second District.
Together, we can change things for the better. With Sonny Narang as your Representative in Congress, we can work toward a better present and a brighter future.
